Installing Lightroom Presets

They way you install a Lightroom preset depends on the device you are using.

Desktop

Make sure you are looking at the instructions for your version of Lightroom: Lightroom Classic or Lightroom CC.

Lightroom CC

  1. Open Lightroom CC
  2. Click the edit icon lightroom edit icon to the top-right of the window
  3. Click the 'Presets' button at the bottom of the edit panel
  4. Click the settings icon lightroom settings icon at the top of the presets panel
  5. Choose 'Import Presets' and navigate to a preset file ending with .xmp

Lightroom Classic

  1. Open Lightroom Classic
  2. Click 'Develop' at the top of the window
  3. Find the presets panel to the left side of the screen
  4. Click the add icon lightroom add icon at the top of the presets panel
  5. Choose 'Import Presets' and navigate to a preset file ending with .xmp

Mobile

Before you start, make sure you have the Adobe Lightroom app on your phone.

  1. Open the Lightroom app
  2. Go to the Lightroom library lightroom library
  3. Go to "All Photos" or create a new album
  4. Press the three dots More Options to see more options
  5. Press "Add Photos" then "From Files" and select the preset. A new image will appear in your library.
  6. Open the image and press the three dots More Options
  7. Select "Create Preset"
  8. Name the preset and save it
  9. Done. You can find your new presets in the edit view under "Presets"
  10. If you don't see the preset, press the arrow Expand Options to see more
